TRAVEL WELL: 24 HOURS IN NEW YORK CITY WITH LISA FROM THE WELLNECESSITIES

Lisa received her Master’s in Nutrition from Columbia University and now practices as a private Registered Dietitian, counseling clients face to face locally, and from around the world virtually. Lisa founded TheWellNecessites.com, a curated wellness platform designed to help others live their healthiest lives. Her goal is to reach as many people as possible, to foster the idea of positive body image.  She helps people find comfort in their own skin.  Sometimes that requires weight loss, an introduction to exercise, or even simple meditation, Lisa helps to find the solution and implement a program that works for her clients.

UNION SQUARE FARMERS MARKETS

ACTIVITIES (YOGA STUDIOS, EXERCISE CLASSES, HIKING, WALKING, WORKSHOPS ETC):

YOGA- Modo yoga is the best in the city with locations both in west village and soon to be Williamsburg Brooklyn!  It is hot yoga, but nothing like the strictness or even the heat as bikram.  The community is so warm and inviting! I have trouble doing yoga anywhere else!

BEAUTY: (ORGANIC SPAS, MASSAGE, FACIALS, NAIL/HAIR SALONS):

MASSAGE/FACIAL- If you are looking to splurge, and spend a few hours at a spa and use the relaxation room head over the peninsula.  All the masseuses are fabulous.  The best facial is by janine.  If you come in the summer, also enjoy the outdoor terrace. Indoor pool is open year round! If you like deep tissue, but are on a budget and don’t want the fuss of a real spa, head over to Rebalance spa on the upper east side for a one hour massage less than 50 dollars! For cupping and massage less than 50 dollars, try shun fa relaxing center- 59 w 8th st, open til midnight.

NAILS- You can get a $20 dollar manicure pedicure, the best deal in town at spring star nails in the west village.  If you are looking to be fawned over by some of the nicest nail ladies in town, head over to orange 64 nails (862 lexingotn avenue, 2nd floor) and ask for julie, tell her lisa sent you!
