Some of my greatest food memories and unforgettable meals come from when I’ve been travelling the world.

Saying that I love to travel would be a massive understatement. If I don’t have a trip coming up I can get rather antsy – Yes I’m also one of those people who book future holidays while on holiday.  I’ve subscribed to every airline newsletter you can possibly imagine, just in case, ya know… flight sale. Over the past five years I have travelled throughout both Europe and the USA twice, travelled up and down the coast of South East Asia, visited Mexico, Canada, India, Ski Lanka, Hong Kong and found my home away from home in Ubud, Bali. I’ve lived in both Perth and Melbourne and frequently visit Sydney.

While most people travel to visit well-known attractions, historical sites and experience local events, I usually choose my travel destination based on the food and wellness scene. Most of my travel plans revolve around cafes, restaurants, farmers markets and health food stores, as well as yoga and other wellness related activities.

For many people, travelling means mediocre hotel breakfasts, forgetting what vegetables look like and learning to live with zero kitchen facilities. However staying healthy while travelling does not have to be impossible. My wellness travel practice is focused on finding the BEST local, organic and whole food experiences all over the world so that I can share them with you.

Sure, there is an abundance of travel guides out there, but how many contain trusted advice specifically focused on healthy eating? Not many (if any). My travel guides were created to help health savvy, culinary-minded travellers eat well while on the road. Why?  Because when you are well fed and well nourished you can get the most out of your nomadic adventures.

My ‘Eat WellIn’ city guides are intended to inspire you to take care of your body and your mind while travelling and include information on where to find good quality healthy food as well as where to recharge mentally and spiritually.

my name’s Kavisha and I love food.

I’ve had a passion for food for as long as I can remember.

What started in primary school as a love of pizza shapes, Cheesymite scrolls and carrot cake (not the actual cake though, just the icing) has now evolved into a love of healthy cooking and eating.

When I first started on my healthy eating journey, I had no idea what I was doing. I use to eat anything and everything ‘low fat’ (urrgh torture!). I lived off “healthy” takeaways and frozen meals thinking I was doing my body good. I tried out many diets, including a 30-day “don’t eat anything tasty, hate your life, but at least you will look good” diet, and at one point was only allowed to eat 1 grapefruit for breakfast (I actually love grapefruit btw).

While living in London, I would spend all of my money (which wasn’t a lot) on a food haul at Wholefoods (the most amazing health store in the world- no regrets). Although I was studying fashion at the time, I knew my passions lay elsewhere.

Two years later (after returning home for further study) I completed my Masters in Wellness, which allowed me to study holistic health and wellbeing from both a psychological and physiological point of view. My personal experience coupled with evidence-based theory and my education now governs the way I teach others. I combine my passion for healthy eating with my knowledge of holistic wellbeing to educate others and help them transition to a more mindful way of eating and living.

The best type of medicine is so simple, so easy, so affordable and accessible to almost everyone: cooking and eating REAL FOOD.

Holding a Masters degree in Wellness, Kavisha works to promote physical and mental well-being through nutrition by teaching people how to move away from processed foods and towards a more nourishing whole foods diet. Her educational seminars and cooking workshops draw on her knowledge of whole food cooking and passion for wellness to show everyday people that healthy eating can be easy and attainable. A lover of all things food and travel, Kavisha also has a wellness travel practice, which focuses on connecting health savvy travellers with good food by showcasing local, organic and whole food experiences all over the world.
